He married BEHEATHLAND SMITH, the daughter of GEORGE SMITH and BEHEATHLAND (BRENT or DADE) on September 3, 1788 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was born March 16, 1771 in Stafford County, Virginia and died November 19, 1857 in Rock Spring, Walker County, Georgia.
