JOHN LAWRENCE 1, was born January 4, 1760 in Virginia and died January 26, 1841 in Snellville, Gwinnett County, Georgia. He married BEHEATHLAND SMITH, the daughter of GEORGE SMITH and BEHEATHLAND (BRENT or DADE) on September 3, 1788 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. She was born March 16, 1771 in Stafford County, Virginia and died November 19, 1857 in Rock Spring, Walker County, Georgia.

Notes: JOHN and BEHEATHLAND married in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. In the 1840's they left Virginia, moved to North Carolina and then Georgia. JOHN is buried in Gwinnett County, Georgia. After his death, BEHEATHLAND and several of her children moved to Walker County, Georgia.

4. JAMES O. LAWRENCE, b. October 26, 1796, Pittsylvania County, Virginia; d. December 12, 1862, Searcy County, Arkansas.
5. THOMAS LAWRENCE, b. November 11, 1798, Pittsylvania County, Virginia; d. September 19, 1873, Walker County, Georgia.
6. SILAS LAWRENCE, b. March 21, 1801, Wilkes County, North Carolina; d. August 28, 1861, Walker County, Georgia.

8. LUCY LAWRENCE, b. November 3, 1806, Wilkes County, North Carolina; d. September 19, 1877, Walker County, Georgia; m. ASA WADE, JR. More About LUCY LAWRENCE: Married Asa Wade, Jr. about 1823. Asa deserted her and moved to Arkansas. During the 1850's Lucy, her widowed mother and Lititia Wade moved to Walker County, Georgia from Paulding County, Georgia to be near Lawrence relatives. She had no children.
9. MARTIN ALLEN LAWRENCE, b. August 23, 1809, Wilkes County, North Carolina; d. May 13, 1875, Walker County, Georgia.
